A man is recovering, and detectives are investigating following a shooting in Edgewood Monday night.
On May 1, 2023, at approximately 10:57 p.m., deputies assigned to the Southern Precinct of the Harford County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a shooting that occurred in the 1900 block of Eloise Lane in Edgewood. Deputies responded to the area of the shooting and made contact with the victim, identified as Donald Purnell Williams, 25, of Edgewood. Williams was suffering from non-fatal gunshot wounds to the upper body. Deputies immediately began providing life sustaining aid until EMS arrived and took over treatment, before transporting Williams to a local trauma center.
The investigation was assumed by Detectives from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division. Investigators from the Forensic Services Unit responded to the area to collect and preserve physical evidence in support of the investigation.
The initial investigation indicated Williams was outside his home, when unknown subjects appeared, opening fire on Williams, before fleeing the scene.
The investigation is ongoing, the motive and any known relationship between the victim and suspects are under investigation. No further information is being released at this time.
