One man is dead and detectives are investigating, following a shooting in Edgewood just after midnight.
On Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 12:08 a.m., deputies assigned to the Southern Precinct of the Harford County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 2200 block of Pulaski Highway in Edgewood for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, deputies located a male victim, identified as Dajuan Kyree Simmons, 24, of Aberdeen, inside D&M’s Tiki Bar and Crab Deck suffering from gunshot wounds.
Deputies immediately began life-saving efforts on Simmons. Medics from the Harford County Department of Emergency Services took over emergency care upon their arrival. Despite life-saving efforts, Simmons succumbed to his injuries and was declared deceased shortly after arrival at the University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Medical Center.
The investigation was assumed by Detectives from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division. Investigators from the Forensic Services Unit responded to the area to collect and preserve physical evidence in support of the investigation.
