Arrest Made in Edgewood Shooting

A 17-year-old juvenile is in custody after being charged in the January 17, 2024, shooting in Edgewood.

On January 17, 2024, at approximately 9:05 p.m., deputies assigned to the Southern Precinct of the Harford County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to Harford Square Drive at O & P Court for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Oluwatishe Oluwatamilore Ilori, 22, of Rosedale, suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper and lower body. Deputies immediately rendered first aid until medics arrived. Illori was subsequently transported by Maryland State Police Medivac Helicopter to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for care.

The investigation was assumed by detectives with the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division. Through investigation, detectives were able to identify a suspect. An arrest warrant was obtained by detectives charging the suspect with attempted 1st degree murder. On February 2, 2024, detectives executed a search warrant with the assistance of the Crime Suppression Unit and Special Response Team. The suspect was taken into custody without incident. Detectives also located a loaded HK Smith and Wesson .40 caliber firearm, that was seized. The suspect was transported to the Harford County Detention Center and is awaiting an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.

While motive of the shooting remains under investigation, a backpack containing marijuana was discovered in the victim’s car where he was shot.
The investigation is ongoing, and additional suspects are being sought, no further information will be released at this time.
