On Sunday, August 16, 2026, around 8:30 PM, deputies assigned to the Southern Precinct of the HCSO were dispatched to the 700 block of Court Square Drive in Edgewood for a report of a shooting.

Deputies arrived in the area and located a 19-year-old male suffering from non-life-threatening injuries consistent with a gunshot wound to his lower body. Deputies immediately rendered medical aid and continued providing care until medics with Emergency Medical Services arrived. Medics then took over treatment and transported the victim to a Baltimore area trauma center for further treatment.

Initial investigation indicates the shooting occurred in the 1700 block of Hanson Road. At this stage, the incident appears to be isolated. Detectives from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division have assumed responsibility for the investigation. As part of their initial response, detectives conducted a comprehensive canvass of the surrounding area to identify witnesses and gather additional information. They are actively working to identify potential suspects and establish a motive.

Specialists from the Forensic Services Unit processed the scene and collected physical evidence to support the ongoing investigation. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
