Woman Arrested Following Non-Fatal Stabbing

A woman is recovering and another is in custody following an early morning stabbing in Aberdeen.
On January 3, 2021, at approximately 5:19 a.m., deputies assigned to the Southern Precinct of the Harford County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 200 block of Mayberry Drive in Aberdeen for the report of a noise complaint. Upon arrival, deputies located a female, identified as Arielle Young, 29, of Aberdeen, with superficial injuries to her hands. Young was treated by medics on the scene, and deputies began escorting her back to her residence. At that time, a second female, identified as Akiera Blagmond, 34, of Aberdeen, approached the deputies and informed them she had been stabbed. Medics treated Blagmond at the scene, before transporting her to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation was assumed by detectives from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division. Investigators from the Forensic Services Unit responded to the area, to collect and preserve physical evidence in support of the investigation.

Initial investigation indicates Young and Blagmon became involved in a verbal altercation that escalated into a physical altercation. At some point during the altercation, Young stabbed Blagmon with a knife. Further investigation revealed Young was the aggressor in the incident and she was placed under arrest. Detectives charged Young accordingly and she was transported to the Harford County Detention Center, where she is being held pending her initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. No further details are being released at this time. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Detective Wasielewski, with the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division, at 410-638-3197.
