The Harford County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce the apprehension of the suspect involved in the shooting at Harford Mall on June 2, 2024.
Through relentless efforts and advanced technology, the Sheriff’s Office Warrant Unit successfully tracked down and arrested the suspect, identified as Wesley Larry Lyons, 35 of Edgewood.
Since the shooting, the Warrant Unit has worked tirelessly and in conjunction with Bel Air Police Department investigators to bring the suspect to justice. Utilizing state-of-the-art technology, deputies were able to trace the suspect’s movements and pinpoint his location in Anne Arundel County. Through extensive physical surveillance, they located the suspect’s vehicle and determined the exact hotel room where he was staying.
With this critical information, a search warrant was obtained by Bel Air Police Department investigators for the hotel room. In collaboration with the Anne Arundel County Police Department’s SWAT, the suspect, Lyons, was taken into custody without incident just after 1 p.m. today. Following his arrest, Lyons was transferred to the custody of the Bel Air Police Department, where he will face charges related to the shooting.
