Quick Work By Deputies Nabs Armed Robbery Suspect

On May 27, 2017, at approximately 6:26 pm., deputies assigned to the Southern Precinct of the Harford County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Mystic Mart in the 1700 block of Hanson Road for the report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, deputies discovered an individual suffering from a stab wound to the arm. Deputies were informed a black male, who was familiar to the victim, entered the store and approached the employee. At that time, the suspect and victim began to struggle, and the victim was stabbed in the arm. The suspect fled the store with the victim’s cell phone.

The Harford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division (CID) was requested to respond to the scene, and subsequently assumed the investigation. Detectives assigned to the Forensic Services Unit responded to process the scene for evidence.

Additional deputies responded to the scene to canvas the area, and with assistance from the Maryland State Police, set up a perimeter around the Mystic Mart. Deputies discovered an individual matching the suspect’s description and detained him. The individual was identified as Hasaan Davis, 33, and was confirmed to be the suspect. Davis initially resisted deputies’ attempts to place him under arrest, however he was placed into custody without injury.

Davis was charged with armed robbery, first and second degree assault, theft of less than $1,000, malicious destruction of property, resisting arrest, failure to obey a lawful order and second degree assault of law enforcement. He was transported to the Harford County Sheriff’s Office where he is being held without bail.

The victim of the stabbing was transported to the University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
