Man Charged in Killing Denzel Jones

A Middle River man is in custody, charged in the killing of Denzel Jones, who was killed on December 15, 2020, in Edgewood.

On Tuesday, December 15, at approximately 6:07 a.m., deputies assigned to the Southern Precinct of the Harford County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 1400 block of Hanson Road where an adult male was discovered shot in the front yard. The victim, identified as Denzel Jones, 22, of Middle River, was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for autopsy.

Through investigation, it was determined that Jones, Emonye White, 19, of Middle River, and a third unidentified individual, went to the location and began shooting at a private residence. While shooting at the residence, Jones was shot in the back at least once. White and the unidentified individual fled the scene.

Based on evidence compiled during the investigation, on February 25, 2021, detectives with the Harford County Sheriff’s Office charged White with Involuntary Manslaughter. His charges were served at the Harford County Detention Center, where he was being held on unrelated charges. At this time, he is being held without bail.

The investigation is ongoing. There are no further details being released at this time. Anyone with information about this crime, or the identity of the third suspect, is asked to call Detective Ross with the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division at 443-567-7091.
