Man Charged in Edgewood Homicide

A man is in custody after being charged with the murder of Tyrell Orlando Polley of Edgewood.

On August 2, 2023, patrol deputies assigned to the Southern Precinct of the Harford County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 600 block of Longwood Court in Edgewood for a cardiac arrest. Upon arrival, deputies located Tyrell Orlando Polley, 33, of Edgewood, deceased in his residence. Polley had been shot multiple times in the upper body.

The investigation was assumed by detectives and crime scene investigators with the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division. During the investigation, detectives conducted an extensive canvas for witnesses and evidence. Technology was leveraged and combined with traditional law enforcement efforts detectives developed Michael Anthony Brown, Jr, 37, of Brooklyn, Maryland as the person responsible for Polley’s death. A warrant for Brown’s arrest was issued on August 15, 2023. Brown, already in custody at the Baltimore County Detention Center for unrelated charges, now faces additional charges, including 1st and 2nd degree murder, 1st and 2nd degree assault, and other related offenses.

At this time, no other charges have been filed in connection to this shooting. The investigation continues and no further information is being released.
