Investigation of Domestic Incident in Abingdon

Harford County detectives are investigating a domestic incident, in which multiple victims were stabbed at a residence in Abingdon on Sunday morning.

On April 27, 2025, at approximately 7:15 a.m., deputies assigned to the Patrol Division of the Harford County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) responded to the 400 block of Deerhill Circle in Abingdon for the report of a domestic incident where multiple people had been stabbed. Upon arrival, deputies located two victims outside of the residence and three other victims inside the residence. Three victims sustained slashing wounds and two sustained other injuries. Two victims were flown to a trauma center by Maryland State Police Aviation. The other victims were transported by ambulance to an area hospital. The victims, Zeenat Jahan (19), Rehana Rashid (66), Sana Zahid (36), an 8-month-old child, and a 2-year-old child are all in stable condition.

The investigation was assumed by detectives from the HCSO Criminal Investigations Division. Investigators from the Forensic Services Unit responded to collect and preserve physical evidence in support of the investigation. Currently, the motive appears to be domestic in nature and detectives do not believe this to be a random act, as the suspect has family ties to the residents of the home.

The suspect, identified as Raja Zahid Maqsood, 32 years old, has ties to the Abingdon area, as well as other states and countries. Utilizing the HCSO K9 and Drone Units, a thorough search for Maqsood ensued. Detectives learned that the suspect made his way to the Abingdon Walmart and Target stores, where he changed his clothes, before fleeing the area. The weapon(s) were recovered at the scene, but he is considered armed and dangerous. An arrest warrant has been issued for Maqsood for attempted first and second degree murder along with first and second degree assault. The HCSO Warrant Apprehension Unit and allied agencies continue the search for Maqsood.

The investigation is active and ongoing. No further information will be released at this time. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Detective Golden, with the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division, at 443-409-3154.
