Harford County detectives are investigating a stabbing that occurred in Edgewood in the early morning hours.

On April 9, 2024, at approximately 12:46 a.m., patrol deputies assigned to the Southern Precinct of the Harford County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 2500 block of Hanson Road in Edgewood for the report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, deputies located a male, identified as Gregory Leon Keels, 41, of Edgewood, suffering from multiple stab wounds. Deputies immediately began life-saving efforts on Keels. Medics arrived and continued treatment before Keels was transported to a local trauma center.
The investigation was assumed by detectives from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division. Detectives canvased the areas around Hanson Road for witnesses and are working to establish suspect(s) and a motive in the case. Investigators from the Forensic Services Unit responded to the area to collect and preserve physical evidence in support of the investigation.

Through initial investigation, detectives believe this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the general public at this time.
