Detectives Investigating Non-Fatal Shooting

A man is recovering, and detectives are looking for home surveillance videos following a shooting in Abingdon Sunday night.

On December 15, 2024, at approximately 5:57 p.m., deputies assigned to the Southern Precinct of the Harford County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a call for multiple gunshots in the area of South Tollgate Road and Westover Lane. At about the same time, the victim called 911 to report that he had been shot. The 17-year-old, male victim, was transported by a friend to University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, where deputies located him a short time later suffering from a non-fatal gunshot wound to the upper body.

The investigation was assumed by Detectives from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division. Investigators from the Forensic Services Unit responded to the area to locate the crime scene, collect and preserve physical evidence and identify digital evidence in support of the investigation. As the investigation unfolded, the shooting was determined to have occurred outside a residence in the area of Longridge Court.
The investigation is ongoing, the motive and any known relationships between the victim and suspects are under investigation. No further information is being released at this time.
