Detectives Investigate Non-Fatal Stabbing

[October 2, 2017, Edgewood MD] A man is recovering and detectives are investigating following a stabbing in Edgewood on Saturday night.

On September 30, 2017, at approximately 8:45 p.m., deputies assigned to the Southern Precinct of the Harford County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 1700 block of Meadowood Court in Edgewood for the report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, deputies were informed that a fight broke out in the area, and someone had been stabbed. No victim was located, and deputies immediately canvassed the area. Shortly thereafter deputies located the victim, identified as Marquis Bernard Gaskins, 24 of Edgewood, in the 600 block of Longwood Court suffering from stab wounds to the upper body. Medics with the Joppa Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company transported Gaskins to the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center where he was treated and released prior to midnight.

Further investigation located the crime scene in the area of the 1700 block of Meadowood Court. The investigation was assumed by detectives from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division. Investigators from the Forensic Services Unit responded to collect and preserve physical evidence in support of the investigation.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. There are no further details being released at this time.
