Detectives Investigate Non-Fatal Shooting

[August 1, 2016, Bel Air, MD] Harford County Sheriff’s Office Detectives are seeking information regarding a non-fatal shooting that occurred Saturday night.

On July 30, at approximately 7:36 p.m., deputies from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Southern Precinct responded to the University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Medical Center for the report of a person suffering from a gunshot wound. Upon arrival, deputies were informed someone drove a

male victim to the hospital who was suffering from at least two non fatal gun shot wounds to the lower body. The Harford County Sheriff’s Office, Criminal Investigations Division, was requested to respond to the hospital, and assumed the investigation.

During the preliminary investigation, evidence was collected and interviews were conducted. As of this release, no crime scene has been located. This investigation is ongoing.

The victim is a 17-year- old black male from Baltimore, Maryland. After initial treatment at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, he was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center for further treatment. He is in stable condition and is expected to survive his injuries.
