Detectives assigned to the Harford County Drug Task Force (HCDTF) made multiple arrests related to cocaine distribution at a local restaurant in Havre de Grace, MD.

During the month of September 2024, detectives from the HCDTF initiated an investigation into drug activity related to the Abbey Burger Havre de Grace, located in the 200 block of N. Washington Street in Havre de Grace, MD. The investigation resulted from calls for service to the restaurant as well as anonymous tips that drugs were being used and sold from within the business.

Early in the investigation, detectives observed multiple employees of the business engaging in activity consistent with drug sales and/or drug usage while on the clock and one employee sold cocaine to an undercover officer. On five separate occasions, cocaine was sold to undercover officers inside the business and three of these sales were made by the employees while they were working in the restaurant.
Court issued search warrants were authorized for the Abbey Burger and suspect, Michael Wade’s, residence located in the 1300 block of Philadelphia Blvd, in Aberdeen. The search warrants were served on January 30, 2024. Investigators located cocaine in amounts to indicate an intent to distribute, evidence of drug distribution, and U.S. currency known to be from drug sales. During the search at Abbey Burger Havre de Grace, cocaine and other drug evidence was located in the possession of employees or within employee property.

The following suspects were arrested, charged, and transported to the Harford County Detention Center:

• Michael Wade, 42, of Aberdeen, charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession of cocaine, and five counts of distribution of cocaine, and
• Markeshia Freeman, 32, of Aberdeen, charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession of cocaine, assuming the identity of another to avoid identification, false statement to a peace officer, and obstructing/hindering a police officer in the performance of their lawful duties

Charged via criminal summons were the following individuals:

• Tracey McCoy-Soper 52, of Port Deposit, charged with cocaine and other drug possession,
• Heather Graham 42, of Elkton, charged with cocaine possession,Tyrece Exum, 37, of Havre de Grace, charged with cocaine possession, and
• William Carter, 63, of Aberdeen, charged with cocaine possession.
