[July 4, 2019, Edgewood, MD] Detectives with the Harford County Sheriff’s Office are investigating after a 15-year-old male was shot and killed in Edgewood.
On Thursday, July 4, at approximately 12:21 a.m., deputies assigned to the Southern Precinct of the Harford County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 1900 block of Eloise Lane in Edgewood for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, deputies located a 15-year-old male victim in a residence, suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. Deputies immediately began life saving measures in an effort to save his life. Medics with the Joppa Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company responded and transported the victim, identified as Khalil Lephonzo Johnson, of Edgewood, to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma, where he was later pronounced deceased.
Through investigation, it was determined Johnson was shot in the area of Brookside Drive and Eloise Lane. A thorough scan of the area was conducted utilizing K9, but no suspects were apprehended.
The investigation was assumed by Detectives from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division. Investigators from the Forensic Services Unit responded to the area to collect and preserve physical evidence in support of the investigation.
