Bank Robbery Arrest

[September 22, 2017, Bel Air, MD] Detectives from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation’s Division charged an Edgewood man Tuesday in connection to a bank robbery that occurred in Harford County in August.

On August 15, 2017, at approximately 10:38 a.m., deputies from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Southern Precinct, responded to the BB&T Bank in the 2100 block of Laurel Bush Road in Bel Air, for the report of a robbery. Upon arrival, deputies were informed that an unknown black male suspect entered the bank, handed the teller a note implying he had a weapon, and demanded money. He fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash. No injuries were reported as a result of the robbery.

Additional deputies and troopers responded to the scene to canvas the area, with assistance from a K9 unit. The suspect was not located during the canvas of the surrounding areas. Detectives from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office, Criminal Investigations Division (CID) responded to the bank, and assumed the investigation. Detectives assigned to the Forensic Services Unit responded to process the scene for evidence.

Detectives continued their investigation and were able to develop a suspect. The accused is identified as Jason Eli Madison, 37, of Edgewood, Maryland. On September 19, 2017, detectives issued an arrest warrant for Madison, and on September 20, 2017 he was arrested without incident. Madison is charged with armed robbery, robbery, second degree assault and theft. After being interviewed by Sheriff’s Office Detectives, Madison was transported to the Harford County Detention Center where he is currently being held without bond.
