[January 13, 2016, Bel Air, MD] Beginning Tuesday January 19th, 2016, and continuing throughout 2016, the Harford County Sheriff’s Office will host Monthly Precinct Meetings designed to increase awareness about criminal activity in our communities and to foster communications between the Sheriff’s Office and our citizens. These meetings are open to anyone and we encourage attendance.

The first meeting will be held on January 19th at 7:00 pm, at the Northern Precinct. Each meeting will feature a specific topic of community interest, as well as updates on local issues facing community members. The meetings will be hosted by the Precinct Commanders who will present information on crime trends, notable arrests, and crime prevention.

The focus topic of the first meeting will be Heroin use and abuse in Harford County. The next meeting will be held on February 16 at the Southern Precinct. The special topic will be announced based on current trends and community interest.

These meetings are designed to provide information, and encourage community questions and input. Representatives from the Narcotics Taskforce and the Criminal Investigations Division will be present at each meeting to answer questions and to address community concerns. Invitations will also be extended to local elected officials who wish to participate.

Future meetings will be held monthly on the third Tuesday at 7:00 pm, rotating between the Northern and Southern Precincts. Throughout the year various topics will be discussed including Traffic Safety, Digital Safety for Children, Animal Control, as well as many others.
