[September 18, 2017, Aberdeen MD] One man is in custody and another is recovering in the hospital after a stabbing in Aberdeen Sunday night.
On September 17, 2017, at approximately 8:25 p.m., officers with the Aberdeen Police Department responded to the Chick-fil- A in the 1000 block of Beards Hill Rd for the report of a victim of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers determined the stabbing occurred in the 3400 block of Churchville Road.
Deputies assigned to the Southern Precinct of the Harford County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Chick-fil-A and observed a male victim, Danilo Cacho, 58, of Churchville Road, suffering from a stab wound to the upper body. Medics from the Aberdeen Volunteer Fire Company treated Cacho at the scene and subsequently transported him by ambulance to the Joppa Magnolia Fire Company, where he was then transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center by Maryland State Police helicopter for treatment.
He is listed in critical but stable condition. Deputies also responded to the 3400 block of Churchville Road. Upon arrival, deputies determined the incident started with a verbal altercation, escalated into a physical altercation and ended when the
suspect stabbed Cacho. The investigation was assumed by detectives from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division. Investigators from the Forensic Services Unit responded to both locations to collect and preserve physical evidence in support of the investigation.
Deputies continued their investigation and quickly developed Jaimie Cristobal Roxas, 65, who is a neighbor of Cacho, as the suspect. Deputies and officers from the Aberdeen Police Department were able to locate Roxas and take him into custody. Detectives executed a search warrant on Roxas’ property, and recovered the knife used in the assault.
After being interviewed by Sheriff’s Office detectives, Roxas was charged with attempted second degree murder, first and second degree assault and reckless endangerment. He was transported to the Harford County Detention Center where he is being held awaiting his initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner.
