Suspect Sought in Serious Stabbing

A Forest Hill man is hospitalized, and detectives are investigating following a stabbing Monday evening.

On January 17, 2022, at approximately 5:30 p.m., deputies assigned to the Southern Precinct of the Harford County Sheriff’s Office responded to the University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Medical Center for the report of a stabbing victim who self-presented at the hospital. Upon arrival, deputies were informed an adult male, identified as Mark Steven Anderson, 2nd, 32, of Forest Hill, had been dropped off at the hospital by a male who was known to him. He was suffering from a serious stab wound to his upper body. Anderson informed deputies the stabbing occurred in Abingdon but did not provide a specific location prior to being taken into surgery. He remains at the University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in fair condition.

The investigation was assumed by detectives from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division.

Information developed leads detectives to believe Anderson was stabbed in a parking lot in the 400 block of Constant Friendship Boulevard in Abingdon. After stabbing Anderson, the assailant fled the area.
