Harford County Sheriff’s Office is seeking to establish an eligibility list for the position of Deputy Sheriff-Lateral transfer, with responsibility for delivering law enforcement services throughout Harford County.

This position requires that you are currently a certified police officer in the state of Maryland holding valid certification from the Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commissions in good standing or a certified law enforcement officer in another state in good standing and eligible for certification in Maryland through Comparative Compliance program.  THIS IS NOT AN ENTRY LEVEL POSITION.

POSITION IS ENTITLED TO A $10,000 RECRUITMENT INCENTIVE UPON HIRING AND COMPLETION OF FIELD TRAINING PROGRAM AND $5,000 RELOCATION INCENTIVE UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS (pending funding availability).

The Law Enforcement Deputy (lateral transfer) position starting salary is $35.16 per hour/$73,133 annual and has opportunities for overtime, compensatory time, holiday pay, shift differential for evening and midnight shifts and uniform allowance.
