Subject Arrested in Grempler Way Shooting

15 year-old Charged as an Adult with Attempted Murder

[June 12, 2013, Edgewood, MD] - Harford County Sheriff's deputies have arrested Andre Darez Jordan, 15, of 1806 Graymount Way, Edgewood, charging him as an adult with attempted 2nd degree murder, 1st degree assault, 2nd degree assault, reckless endangerment, and firearms violations in the wounding of a 15 year-old Edgewood youth. The youth had suffered a grazing gunshot wound to his abdomen on June 10th while walking in the 1800 block of Grempler Way.

On Monday, June 10th, at 8:05 pm, Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to Grempler Way, for a report of a shooting. Deputies arrived to find the juvenile victim had been grazed by a bullet. He reported he was walking with some friends on Grempler Way when he saw a fight occurring between two people. The suspect, later identified by police as Jordan, is alleged to have a pulled a gun from his pocket and fired at the boy grazing his abdomen. He was treated at the scene by the Joppa Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company but refused transport to the hospital.

Sheriff's detectives arrested Jordan in the evening hours of June 11th at his home where he was taken into custody without incident. He was transported to the Harford County Detention Center and after being seen by a Harford County District Court Commissioner, was held on $500,000 bond.
