Upon arrival deputies found David Woodfolk, 35, of Chapelgate Court, bleeding from a head injury. Woodfolk told deputies that although a shot was fired he wasn't struck. He told police David LaMont Gregg, 40, of 3407 Periwinkle Way in Edgewood did strike him in the head with a black semi-automatic handgun. Deputies requested medical assistance for Woodfolk but he refused treatment.

Woodfolk told police David Gregg is his ex-wife's husband. At approximately 5:40pm, Gregg came to the residence on Chapelgate Court to drop off Mr. Woodfolk's two children, ages 9 and 3. Woodfolk heard a shot fired and then saw Gregg fleeing toward Rt. 543.

Deputies responded to David Gregg's residence in Edgewood. Upon arriving at that location they located Gregg and observed a gunshot wound to his shoulder. He was treated at the scene and then flown by Maryland State Police Medivac to University of Maryland Shock Trauma where he was treated and later released from the hospital. Upon returning to his residence he was arrested by police and charged with first and second degree assault, reckless endangerment, use of a firearm in the commission of an assault, and carrying a concealed dangerous weapon. He is being held without bond in the Harford County Detention Center.
