Attempted Burglary and 1st Degree Assault

[November 18, 2012 Bel Air, MD] — The Harford County Sheriff's Office is investigating a 1st degree Assault and Attempted Burglary that occurred Sunday 11/18/2012 at approximately 6:15 a.m. 1800 Block Glendale Lane Bel Air, Maryland 21015. The Victim reported that his wife who was in the living area of the home called to her husband that she heard noises coming from the basement area of their home. The victim went to the basement and saw someone outside the basement door. The victim then went back upstairs grabbed a baseball bat then went out outside to the back yard where he confronted the male suspect striking him with the bat. The victim and suspect struggled on the ground where the suspect cut the victim with a box style cutter in the back and shoulder. The victim was transported to Upper Chesapeake Hospital by Bel Air Volunteer ambulance. The suspect left through the open fence and headed towards Centerville square. Sheriff's office K-9 and Maryland State Police Aviation were called for a search of the area with negative results. The incident is being investigated by the Harford County Sheriff's Office.
